Fan of the girls not the sport. It reminds me of playground fighting. They circle round throwing jabs and somebody goes nuts and kicks the other one in the crown jewels and pins him to the floor in a wierd arm lock which wins them the fight.
Ray Mercer proved that boxing is more skilled than MMA by knocking out Tim Sylvia in 9 seconds. By the way Ray Mercer is 39! YES 39!!!!!

Believe me when I say that I have no love affair with MMA (ask the guys), but I want to set up this sub-section so that MMA fans can have a place to chat without us saying that they suck or are gay...So, let's declare a cease fire when it comes to this thread... However, anything goes on the main board ;D

As a matter of fact, I was a big fan of the World Combat league.
Although most MMA fans think it's gay. Go figure.

Speaking of Kimbo...
Just read he's appearing on the next season of The Ultimate Fighter. Now taking into account that not long ago the word was that he wanted to take up pro boxing, and the fact that The Ultimate Fighter has recently finished taping for the next season, one can only assume he got ousted early on. Would make no sense for a guy to become a pro boxer if he had won or done relatively well on TUF.
Maybe the boxing statement was made before he decided to be part of TUF (don't know how long it takes to tape a season).
Anyway, that's the latest from the Kimbo circus.

Las Cruces fight card includes Foreman's son EL PASO -- Fighting in just his second professional match, George Foreman III will headline the Powerhouse Combat Sports boxing and mixed martial arts event, set for July 31 at the Pan American Center in Las Cruces. Also known as "Monk" to distinguish him from his former world champion father -- and four brothers who also are named George -- Foreman is 1-0 in his young heavyweight career heading into his bout against George Barrage in a little more than two weeks. "I'm just looking forward to going one fight at a time," Foreman, who was unable to make the event's news conference Wednesday in El Paso, said by telephone. Foreman said he is working hard to build a reputation of his own, but he still accepts fatherly advice from George Foreman Sr., the retired two-time world heavyweight champion. "Ten fights from now, I want people to talk about the next boxing prospect," Foreman said. Foreman added, "Every time that I'm in the ring, they're going to come after me," Foreman said. "They're going to give me their best fight, and I have to be ready for that." In his June 6 debut, Foreman, 26, defeated Clyde Weaver (0-2) by first-round knockout. The card is expected to begin with a few mixed martial arts fights, co-promoter David May said. In other boxing matches, undefeated Las Cruces middleweight Austin Trout, as well as Abraham Han and Jennifer Han, are expected to fight. Opponents still are pending. Also expected to participate -- but also awaiting an opponent -- is super bantamweight Salvador Sanchez, who is the nephew of a former world champion boxer of the same name. Sanchez, who also was not at the news conference, is "delighted to be part of the card," he said in Spanish over the phone. "I want to show I have the ability to be a champion," he said. "To show people that there is a future in this man."
