I'll go ahead and start this one , McCall by a late KO! Wow, a bold call considering Mercer's iron chin during his prime. I'd say Mercer by decision, McCall's a tough guy to stop too.

How did this thread escape me? McCall was a better all-around fighter and athlete...I think he could probably do enough to win a close SD...

I like both of these guys quite a lot. I think you could run this one through a simulator ten times and get an even split. I'm going to say that though McCall would have a good chance to wear down Mercer (I'm guessing he could make use of a 20-, 25-pound advantage and at lease a little bit of height), Mercer could steal a decision.

Not a bad idea, think I'll work on this one. We'll go with a "prime vs. prime" deal first, then for modern day we'd have to invent a "beyond-the-end" career stage for Mercer ;D
