This matchup was supposed to happen following McClellan's fight with Benn.
Would McClellan have been enough to test Roy's chin or would the super human Roy of the mid 1990's been two quick for McClellan?

Back in his prime, I don't think anyone, in any era, beats Jones...
Jones wins via solid, but not dominant UD

Roy Jones Jr. MD 12 Gerald McClellan as he falls asleep in a dull bout Dull? ?? did you ever see McClellan fight? ok whatever... I may be thinking with my heart, but I think McClellan had the style to beat a Prime RJ, McClellan was Fast, had a similar in and out style, not as fast as RJ but a lot more powerful, McClellan beat him in the amateurs, I bet he would've KO'd him as a pro. I wish McClellan would've never been ruined by the home town official, and the repeated rabbit punches by Benn for obvious reasons, but specially, I would've loved to see McClellan travel to Wales to slap Calslapy around, and call him Susan..

Everytime you place a fast exciting showboater in with a slugger with pure power and a bit of hand speed, the fight is dull because of the clash in styles because the showboater runs.
It's nothing against the G-Man I think he's quality and Roy Jones ranks with the best IMO. I agree G-Man would of given Jones a fight. I would like to see what McClellan would do when Jones rests on the ropes at least twice a round.

I honestly think that Jones' "rests" were a product of sheer boredom...He fought in the middle of the ring against all those he perceived as real threats...
