Manny Pacquiao's Official Blueprint for Miguel Cotto Following the press tour in Puerto Rico for the pending Pacquiao/Cotto showdown, Pacquiao, in a brief conversation with a journalist, laid out what he thinks is the ultimate blueprint to a solid victory over the strong Puerto Rican. In his words....."If I press the fight, I'm sure he'll run. And if I wait, he'll come in". Considering that there are only two ways an opponent can attack another, and Pacquiao feels both would easily place that opponent in the lions den, one truly has to wonder what gameplan can Cotto and company really come up with that may help? If Pacquiao's blueprint is the classic "pick your poison" affair that he suggest, contrary to what many believe, Cotto could very well be in for a long night. Anyone with true intelligence in the sport of boxing knows full well that often times, in the heat of the battle, things don't always go according to plan. Critics confuse Pacquiao's warrior spirit with him being a not-so-intelligent fighter, a result of him taking a few punches to land a few stunners; however, for those that continue to feel that way, ask yourselves two questions....1.) How many times has it resulted in him being hurt or losing a fight? and 2.) How many times has it actually tipped the scales to turn the tide of the fight into his favor? Time and time again, Pacquiao has shown many of us precisely why we value him so high, and more importantly, why he remains in the company of those fighters of yesteryear who make up the sports list of all-time greats. At the end of the day, Pacquiao's greatness has answered many questions, yet left few competitors with true answers. In this equation, his blueprint to success will once again be put to a test. November 14th can't get here quick enough. I don't know about you, but you can find me in Las Vegas by Friday the 13th. I just hope this isn't another one-sided massacre that none of us saw coming! Stay tuned. Courtesy of boxing examiner

Contrary 2 popular belief, Pacquiao's plan may indeed work wonders... When the pressure is applied, Cotto backs off and when ya don't chase Cotto, he'll chase you... It sounds like it'll work wonders, but, it's gonna take more than that 2 take Cotto out... Even though I believe Pacquiao will win this fight 4 several reasons, I do, however, think Cotto is bein underestimated in every aspect of the word as well...
I wonder what Cotto's blueprint is gonna be...

Me myself, I think it just depends... Ya gotta keep in mind that in that fight with Margarito, that was probably the most damage that Cotto has ever received, without a doubt... Comin from that beatin, it's somewhat tough 2 say whether or not Cotto can take those punches... I do believe, however, in wear and tear... It's kinda like when a boxer receives damage over time, he eventually starts receivin long term effects from it... Cotto is definitely no exception... No matter how strong a fighter is, if he takes enough hard hits over time, I think his chin will soften up more and more... Just like when Mosley knocked out Margarito, everyone said and I quote, "COTTO DENTED MARGARITO'S CHIN AND MOSLEY JUST CRACKED IT"... It's highly possible 2 say the same thing about Cotto... It's gonna be highly possible that Margarito dented Cotto's chin and Pacquiao's gonna finish the job...

Cotto is definitely not the fighter he was before margocheat. He seemed to give up mentally in the clottey fight. His confidence has been dented more than his chin. But that left hook still has a lot left in it. And once again i feel the need to stress manny doesnt have a rock solid chin, in fact far from it. And as long as its like that there is every possibility Cotto will get the knockout

Pacquiao's blueprint for Miguel Cotto: 1) Show up, 2) Wait 'til the closing bell 3) Pick up Diamond Belt.
Miles, I hear what your saying, but Cotto's weakness has always been speed...Margarito's punches were slow enough for Cotto to brace himself...Whenever Cotto's been hurt in the ring, its been with a quick counter (especially from a southpaw)...The difference between Margarito's and Pacquiao's punch is like the difference between getting hit with an aluminum baseball bat and having a piano dropped on your head from a 3rd floor window...

its strange how roach and his team always say what their tactics for a fight are. i think they decide what they are going to make public and then keep 'the real game plan' to themselves, infact this whole thing about applying pressure could be made public so cotto then devises a game plan for pacquiao applying pressure when really they have a secret game plan to go with what cotto will be expecting....

Bingo... Never trust a trainer's media quotes...never trust a fighter talking about his own conditioning...never trust a promoter about anything...ok, in other words, everyone in boxing is a big, fat liar ;D
