health care in britain is ok. it's better than paying for it and not being able to afford the treatment or ending up with huge bills you cant pay if you fall ill. and you can still go to a private doctor here if you want to and pay for your health care if you can afford it, you have the choice. the dentist situation has been bad. but lately i got to see a dentist straight away.

According to FOX News in the states, the European model of health care has people dying younger, having to wait in long lines and take numbers for care and rationing of medicine...Obviously, FOX News is in the pockets of the Republican Party, but how accurate would you say this generalization is? They are really starting to get the general public scared of any impending changes...

LOL....I was reading the first part of your response and having the same horrid reaction... Honestly, I can't see why they are even bothering to make any changes in the States...Nobody is denied emergency care or needed surgery in the US and there are plenty of free clinics. Things can get costly, but you'll never hear about someone going to jail over unpaid hospital bills. Usually, they'll cut a deal with poor people and make the payments affordable.... But in either case, both systems beat what's available where I live in Mexico...health care or no health care, if you get sick you eventually end up dying... Think healthy, Paul....Think healthy....

There is supposedly a public health program, but it's awful. They literally shove you into a hospital if you are sick and, basically, wait for you to die. Little equipment, expired medicines (if there are medicines at all) and literally dozens to a room. Plus, you have to bring your own sheets, blankets and personal items from home- the hospital doesn't supply them..Most people who can't afford private health care prefer to stay at home if they are very sick... Unfortunately, as a foreigner, I'm not even eligible for that...I'm an American ex-pat. There are some decent doctors here, but they are a llittle too eager to make some money and will try to talk you into uneeded proceedures... One good thing is dental work. It's fairly decent and probably one tenth of the cost in the states.... All in all, I better stay healthy! ;D
