my graphics card on my computer needs replacing... as when i watch videos they are jumping crackling and stalling.... this is a disaster as the graphics cards for windows vista from what i can see are more expensive than the computer was in the first place. also it means i cant watch any boxing till the issue is resolved. i wanted to change the card myself as it looks straight forward enough, pull it out and replace... but with those prices..

Ouch! I'm not much of an expert with PC's so i can't help too much. Is it a desktop or a laptop? Also, from my limited knowledge, if your graphics card has gone wrong, i imagine you'd have a lot more problems than skipping videos. But hey i maybe wrong I've put a links below about replacing a graphics card. www.videojug.com/film/how-to-install-or-change-my-computers-graphics-cardSorry i couldn't be more help and i hope it works out soon.

That sucks...I'm not a tech guy, either...but are you sure it's the graphics card and not a problem with the system or with the Flash program? Awhile back I was having problems with videos too and did a system restore to before I updated with a new version of Flash and I'm fine now...
If it IS the graphics card, you could go hunting for a bargain at a small tech store that builds and reconstructs computers...you could probably get a used card there for considerably less.

oh, thanks so much for those helpful replies. i went to see a man in a the computer fixing shop today and he said he doesnt think its the graphics card. he said that it sounds as though i have too many programmes running.... that because there's too much running like for example 'spy ware' which could have been the problem aswell then space allocated to run videos is being taken.... he knew what he was talking about but i cant say it right ;D the 'cpu' will show if this is the case aswell....except i cant find it ;D but i think he is right as sometimes its doing this with the videos and sometimes it isnt.... anyway, im going to mess about with uninstalling some programmes and with flash player and i'll let you know how i get on

In my case, I had the same issue...sometimes spyware and anti-virus programs are attached to files we download and the thing gets messed up...I had two anti-virus and a spyware program fighting it out in my system... Do a system restore...it worked for me...

oh thanks for that. ccleaner was one of the things i had added along with a registry cleaner and spyware just before the problem started. i couldnt do a system restore as it kept saying that a error had meant it couldnt be completed succesfully so i just removed zone alarm, ccleaner, regisrty cleaner and some programmes i never use. i did run the cleaners before i removed them though so any junk will also have been cleaned away. the videos are going ok today so i'll wait and see what happens
