Mike Tyson returns to The Oprah Winfrey Show to take audience questions and reunite with Evander Holyfield Live on October 16.
AP CHICAGO, Ill. -- Boxing rivals Mike Tyson and Evander Holyfield are to meet again — and this time Oprah will referee. Harpo Productions announced Wednesday the two fighters would appear on Friday’s live episode of “The Oprah Winfrey Show” from Chicago. On June 28, 1997, at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Tyson was disqualified after biting off part of Holyfield’s right ear during their WBA heavyweight title fight. Winfrey aired an interview with Tyson on Monday during which he discussed the death of his 4-year-old daughter and talked about his family. Harpo Productions says Tyson will take questions from the audience on Friday. ----- CHICAGO — Following an outpouring of audience response from his appearance on Monday, former heavyweight champion Mike Tyson returns to the Oprah show on Friday, October 16. Appearing live, Tyson will take questions from the studio audience and speak about the overwhelming reaction he’s had from his first interview. Plus, more than ten years after their controversial bout, Tyson will reunite with Evander Holyfield on the Oprah show stage. Their appearance together on the Oprah stage this Friday will mark the first time Tyson and Holyfield have spoken face-to-face since their infamous 1997 incident.
