There's a strong possibility exists that Juan Manuel Lopez vs. Steven Luevano will head over to the Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City. Luevano's WBO featherweight title will be on the line. The fight will take place on January 23 on HBO. I’ve heard the decision to possibly change the venue has nothing to do with Luevano’s refusal to accept the fight in Puerto Rico.
According to multiple sources, there are some technical issues with the proposed venue in Puerto Rico. Lopez won his first major title [WBO super bantamweight belt] at the same AC venue in June of 2008, when he knocked out Daniel Ponce De Leon in a single round. Yuriorkis Gamboa will appear in the co-feature against Bernabe Concepcion.
Sounds like a great card , but what exactly happened to Lopez vs Caballero?

now that lopez was a li'l bit exposed..he should prove that he is the man and win back his fans by defeating Caballero. He is taking easy on Luevano because the man is a bit sluggish and no power to knock him down. With Lopez style, an explosive fight is certain if he picks on Chris johns.

I don't think he was exposed! He was just looking for the knock out and instead of boxing he just threw bombs and he got caught wide open from being reckless and just throwing bombs thinking his power was unmatched. Well I guess now he won't just rely on his power and go back to boxing. Juama fought a stupid fight and if he would have boxed he would have won easy. And might have got the knock out. But he fought reckless and almost got himself knocked out. Lets see if The Juama we all watched become a champion can show us that was a fluke and destroy Luvenao!
But if the Juama that fought Mtwaga then he will lose.

Yeah, I don't think JuanMa was exposed, I just think he looked like a young, bored fighter who was overlooking Mtagwa....Remember, Lopez is still a kid and still developing his style...He needs to add a little more finesse to his game and learn how to set up his punches better..
But unfortunately for him, his future opponents will be inspired by Mtagwa's performance and will be working harder to hold on and make the later rounds...Lopez's career just got harder and fighting Luevano will not be a walk in the park...

According to Panamanian boxing media, "Carlos Tapia" Panamas top boxing announcer and commentator said that all the hype by Caballero was a pitch for more money for fighting in Puerto Rico. Tapia also said that having a Super Champ title should have challengers coming to him, instead of trying to boost the purse by all the trash talking. This match up fell apart a long ago, the money offered caballero was peanuts in comparison, so I wouldn't expect this fight to ever happen. I would have thought it had a better chance to happen in Vegas instead.
