I just got word from Prediction League head honcho, Stivan, that this is how things will work for next week's Tomasz Adamek vs. Andrew Golota Official bout:
PHONETOOL will defend his crown against 5 worthy challengers: #1 Contender, Dafs117, new Brothers on Boxing champ, MackBundlez, Mecky1888, PBD and Charlie 21er...
To the challengers and champ: BE AS SPECIFIC AS POSSIBLE...THERE IS NO TIE BREAKER AND THE MOST ACCURATE PREDICTION WILL BE DECALRED WINNER...Vague predictions will probably not cut it this week...
And, as usual, post your winner here and send Stivan all the specifics...
Good Luck!
There will be a major shake-up for the Predictor League in November, so stay tuned...

Adamek is simply better than Golota in every single department.
Adamek wins via 10th round RTD after Golota quits on his stool.

From Polskie Radio:
"Fight of the Century" is personal, says McGirt
Buddy McGirt, former coach for boxers Tomasz Adamek and Andrzej Golota, warns that the Saturday fight between the two boxing champions should not take place because it is simply a personal matter.
"I know them both, I like them both. They should not fight each other. I guess it is something personal," claims McGirt.
The fight – dubbed the Polish Fight of the Century – scheduled for Saturday in Lodz, central Poland, pits the two boxers against each other, despite the fact that they fight in different weight classes.
"Golota is undoubtedly stronger. [Andrzej] is generally a strong person, much stronger than the majority of boxers. Adamek is also strong, but not compared to [Andrzej]," stated McGirt, adding that Adamek is faster in the ring.
Golota is a four-time contender for the heavyweight world championships. Adamek, most often boxing in the cruiserweight category, is a middle- and junior-weight champion.
"I am sure that a victory in this fight will not decide who is stronger, faster, who has more experience or who has a better left hook. It will, however, show who is smarter in the ring and who has a better fight plan," says McGirt. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- In October, McGirt says they shouldn't fight. Same as I said in March, when this thing was first rumored.
In seriousness, it's kind of a nonstory here. If McGirt thinks it shouldn't happen, well, why exactly? Because it's a personal matter? That's kind of vague. And from a sales standpoint, isn't that a better reason to be interested than Golota going in for a payday? Strange.

Just to maybe swing things the other way, here's footage (fourth video) of Golota working out in a neon-green polo shirt and capris. www.sport.pl/boks/12,64992,7168096,Tomasz_Adamek_dla_Sport_pl__pokonam_Golote_szybkoscia_.html

It's on Polsat, 7:30 their time, which would be 1:30 p.m. EST here. How much of the undercard that'll include, I'm not sure. www.polsat.pl/Nasze_Programy,2846,Polsat_Boxing_Night,3589/index.html
