Question for you, Paul: The five to watch in each category, would you consider the next five, in other words the fighters ranked 21-25 in each division, or just the five guys, in no particular order, most on the verge of cracking the top 20? Thanks in advance! The 5 to Watch section is the only part of the rankings that are somewhat subjective. Basically these are guys that almost qualified for the top 20, but still have (or will have) enough mojo to make a run at the top. They are ranked 1 to 5, but its a relatively loose ranking and not bound by the same rules as the top 20. As the BTBC Rankings evolve, I see this category maybe expanding to 10 and including a combination of young prospects, older fighters with name recognition and fighters who are moving up or down a weight class.

How about Mr. Victor Ortiz at Jr Welter.
Another one to keep in mind for the future is Hernan Marquez at Flyweight.

Actually, most of Salita's fights have been over the 140lb limit. But now that he's won a 2nd tier title, he'll be limited to 140 and should get into the rankings soon, if he keeps winning. I'm pissed at Salita's people, though. I was supposed to get a screener of the documentary they made about his life, but it kept getting "lost in the mail." (Or maybe it was just the lousy Mexican postal service...)

Yea I know he jumps around , sooner or later though he's going to step up the competition and he'll be beat, I think the best weight for him is 140lbs. Yea I saw the documentary, they started airing it here in NY about 2 months ago , you know what sucks is that it took so long to produce. It leaves off when he was fighting Francisco Campos and that was over 2 years ago. But overall it was pretty good.
