Nobody has heard anything from him in a while. And by nobody,I mean absolutely NO ONE.
From what I've heard it seems to be a money issue but if that's the case he should have told Arum he wants the Williams fight. At this point ,it's either Mosley on HBO for 2 mill or Arum put's on another independent PPV which will get Magarito far less than that.

Last night, as I was taking the dogs out in my back yard and talking to my friend about Margarito and the state of the Welterweight division, I thought I heard the faintest of clucking sounds coming from the North, ´round Tijuana way....Cluck...cluck...cluck...Almost as though a chicken were trapped in some sort of metal container...I stepped up to where I thought the sound was coming from and something scurried away...All it left behind was a bandana, some feathers and a blank contract to fight a 37 year old lightweight...

Apparently Team Mosley is offering a reward for anyone knowing the whereabouts of Margarito- 2 Tickets and a free hotel room for Mosley's fight on January 24th. He'll either be fighting Margarito or Andre Berto. So, guys...let's all start looking.... Here's the blurb: fighthype.com/pages/content3806.html

WBA welterweight champion Antonio Margarito has officially turned down a potential January 24 showdown with Shane Mosley. After weeks of negotiations, Margarito let a Tuesday deadline come and go. Sources close to the situation state that Margarito was unhappy with the money being offered for the HBO televised showdown, which a few have listed as $2 million dollars.
BoxingScene.com's Robert Morales reported last week, Mosley signed off on the deal last week after Golden Boy Promotions CEO Richard Schaefer sat down with him and worked out a deal. Margarito never came in to the Top Rank Offices to sign his end of the deal.
Top Rank President Todd duBoef told The Los Angeles Times that on Tuesday he received a not from Margarito's co-manager, Sergio Diaz, that Margarito would be "passing on the fight." Margarito is in line for a June 09 rematch with Miguel Cotto, who the Mexican champion knocked out in July.
"Part of their thinking, I'm sure, is that the Cotto fight did good numbers and that's the fight they want, more than a guy that Cotto beat," duBoef said. "Shane Mosley was a big name seven years ago, but they weighed the consequences and decided it was onward and upward."
Schaefer was enraged with the decision, pointing to Margarito bashing Mosley in the media and told The Times that Margarito is no longer the most feared fighter.
"Margarito should shut up and not call out people anymore after this, when they accept and then he chickens out," Schaefer said. "Margarito says he's the most feared fighter in the world. Well, he's now lost that title."
WOW!!!!!!!

Now, where are the funny little cartoons depicting Margarito as a chicken? What's fair is fair, right? "El Pollo Loco"
The guy's been doing this for years and doing so with little scrutiny because he's been out of the spotlight. Now that he's in the public eye, he couldn't hide for long.
I hope everyone sees why, exactly, so many proposed fights with Margarito never panned out. Margarito is the issue, not the alleged fear of his opponents...
I've been telling you guys for years now...
Margarito has turned down a total of 6 million dollars for 2 fights (Williams and Mosley) since he became champ again. Then, there was the Clottey fight that he backed out of...
Who the hell is left to fight? Golden Johnson...?

Margarito is seriously f**k**g stupid.Just because he beat the golden boy at 147 doesn't make him that guy now.He just passed $2 mill for what IMO amounts to a tuneup against a faded star. Now he goes on one of Top Ranks independent PPVs for likely half or less than the Mosley fight, which won't get him any exposure besides the hardcore fans who already know who he is.
I know he's got the Cotto rematch that's coming next year to fall back on but if this is really about money,he should have just told Arum to get over his high school bullshit with Goosen and make the Williams rematch.

Margarito has just lost all the respect I had for him..if there is a type of fighter I hate, is the type who don't make fights because they think they deserve better...those are the one's who hurt the sport!..

It must be that Margarito is afraid of Mosley.

I want some credit for saying that Margarito would be the death blow for the Welterweight division if he became the top guy.
I will be praying that Cotto fights a smarter fight next time and knocks this coward out. Otherwise, 147 will be dead for sure.
